Transportation Map

The transportation industry is an important sector within the Alabama economy. Transportation equipment is the largest export, with shipments increasing to $2.8 billion for the same period in 2010. Business spending for transportation equipment is forecasted to increase almost 30 percent. Nearly every area of the economy is in some way affected by the transport of goods through interstate and intrastate commerce. There are approximately 8,010 jobs directly related to the Transportation sector in the Black Belt.
